Candle Care + Safety

Candle Care + Safety
Hey there candle lovers! We want you to love every momeny of your Hickory Lane Triple Scented Soy Candle, however the use of candles requires caution and awareness of the associated risks, so please ensure you always follow these safety precautions.
Candle Safety
1. The First Burn Matters: When you light your candle for the first time, make sure to let it burn for at least 2.5 - 3 hours, or 1 hour for every inch of diameter of the container. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn.
2. Don't Overdo It: Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent carbon buildup on the wick, which can cause black soot on your jar. Stop burning when 10mm (1/2 inch) of un-melted wax remains in the bottom of the glass of your Hickory Lane Candles.
3. Snuff it Out: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame and keep it burning clean. This also helps prevent tunneling. Do not use a lid to extinguish your candles.
4. Keep an Eye Out: Never leave a burning candle unattended, and always extinguish them before leaving a room or going to sleep.
5. Watch Your Surroundings: Keep burning candles away from anything flammable, like clothing, books, or curtains, and make sure they're placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
6. Trim that Wick: Always trim your wick to 7mm before lighting your candle to prevent the flame from getting too large and ensure optimal burning.
7. Safety First: Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets, and make sure they're placed at least 10 cm apart from each other.
8. Stay Draft-Free: Avoid placing candles near drafts, ceiling fans, or any air currents to prevent uneven burning.
9. Let it Pool: Allow your candle to create a wax pool each time you light it to ensure the strongest fragrance possible.
10. Read the Instructions: Always read and follow manufacturers' directions for use and safety, and never use a candle as a nightlight.

    Candle Care
    1. Stay Soot-Free: Keep those wicks properly placed and trimmed to prevent any pesky soot from forming on the glass. Nobody likes a dirty jar, are we right?
    2. Keep it in Line: Make sure the candle flame never touches the side of the glass. We want to keep things cozy, not set off any alarms!
    3. Check for Damage: Don't light up if the glass is cracked, chipped, or broken. Safety first, folks!
    4. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: If your candle has multiple wicks, light 'em all up every time you use it. It's all about balance, baby!
    5. Keep it Clean: No liquids, foreign objects, or flammable materials near the candle, please! And don't forget to tidy up those wick trimmings after each burn.
    6. Blackened Glass? No Problem: If the glass gets a bit blackened while burning, just extinguish the candle, let it cool, and give it a quick wipe with a dry paper towel. Easy peasy!
    7. Cover Up: When your candle's not in use, pop the lid on to keep it dust-free and ready for action.
    8. Snuff it Out Right: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame properly. No snuffer? No worries! Just blow gently and steadily until it goes out.
    9. Time to Burn: Remember, burn times can vary depending on factors like fragrance, color, and environmental conditions. So sit back, relax, and let the magic happen!

Remember, candles are all about creating a cozy atmosphere and enjoying your space, but safety always comes first. So, keep these tips in mind and keep on enjoying those amazing scents from Hickory Lane!
